About Gurmeet Singh

Gurmeet (Ashu) Singh was born in December and raised in a Sikh family in New Delhi, India. He moved to the USA with his family at 17 and started his journey in Upper Darby, PA. However, few days later he came to Upper Darby, PA, he became soon a victim of a hate crime where he was beaten and hospitalized for many months. Due to this incident, he injured his left eye and had over 500 stitches in his head. He also had to cut his hair which goes against his traditional Sikh values.

Ashu’s commitment and determination have helped him reach this level of success with his business. Despite all the hardship, Ashu had to leave college early to help his father get through a tough time. The work, community, and legacy Ashu has built over the last 15 years continues to impact communities locally and worldwide tremendously. Recognizing his professional and personal achievements, he has received various local and international awards. 

Ashu is a proud and active entrepreneur. He is always seen multitasking towards bigger and better accomplishments. This led him to launch many successful business ventures. Gurmeet (Ashu) Singh is a multi-talented and ambitious family man. He is a loving father to a beautiful daughter and a self-motivated business professional. Gurmeet (Ashu) Singh is a self-made and self-taught entrepreneur. He is the CEO of Nimit Palace Indian Restaurant and Hospitality Group. This also consists of the Nimit Foundation which is a Non-Profit Organization (NGO). The Nimit Palace and Hospitality Group operates multiple fine-dining restaurants across the states. The flagship restaurant in New Jersey currently holds the record as South Jersey’s #1 restaurant for authentic and traditional Northern Indian cuisine for the past 15 years.
